With Gratitude!

Fr. Bill & Dr. Anne Erwin prior to a school Mass

Dear Parishioners,

I want to share with you an important update regarding the leadership of our school.

Two and a half years ago, Dr. Anne Erwin graciously came out of retirement to serve as our principal during a critical time in our school’s life. She accepted this role with a clear purpose: to stabilize, strengthen, and lift up our school community. I can say without hesitation that she has done exactly that — and done it exceptionally well.

Each year around this time, Anne and I have prayerfully reflected on whether it was the right moment to begin planning for the next phase of leadership. Dr. Erwin herself recognized that there were several areas of the school that needed focused care, structure, and stabilization before a transition could responsibly take place. Through her leadership, those foundations have now been firmly established.

After our most recent period of discernment and prayer, we have concluded that this is the right time to open the principal position and begin the process of hiring her successor for the coming school year 2026/27.

I want to express my deep gratitude to Dr. Erwin for the extraordinary gift she has given our school. I have learned much from her — as I know our faculty, staff, families, and students have as well. Her leadership has been a blessing, and her impact will be felt for many years to come.

Our next step will be to form a hiring committee and begin receiving applications from qualified candidates. Our hope is to identify the person God is calling to lead our school in time for the new fiscal year, which begins July 1st.

Transitions can be challenging, but I want to assure you that this one will be handled with great care. Dr. Erwin will remain actively involved in the transition process. While her term as principal will conclude in June, she will continue to assist with key areas of continuity into the coming school year, including support for the new principal’s integration into our community and important processes, such as our ongoing accreditation process, so that the next leader is positioned for a strong and successful beginning.

Please keep Dr. Erwin, our school leadership, and our hiring process in your prayers. I am profoundly grateful that she agreed to come aboard and guide our school during this important chapter. Because of her service, our future is bright, and her legacy will remain a lasting part of our school’s story.

Blessings,
